Goreathon?

Convert you skeptics!

24 Hours of Reality will broadcast a presentation by Al Gore every hour for 24 hours across 24 different time zones from Wednesday to Thursday, with the aim of convincing climate change deniers and driving action against global warming among households, schools and businesses.
I think that should read 24 hours of insanity...
Last I knew he was still living large and emitting quite a carbon footprint himself.

Like this little cottage in Nashville.

And the quaint digs in California.

Eco-friendly transportation...

More on the carbon neutral fruitloop and the Goreathon here.

More Spending Will Reduce Debt

It is becoming harder every day to stay calm...

From The Hill.
Senate Democrats on the supercommittee say the group needs to include stimulus for the economy in the deficit-reduction plan it has been tasked with producing by Thanksgiving.
The three Senate Democrats serving on the 12-member deficit supercommittee outlined their approach to the talks in a Wall Street Journal op-ed published Wednesday.
Only in the world of the terminally insane does this make sense.
I just want to scream...

Unemployment checks create jobs and now food stamps are economic stimulus too!

I hate to wish my life away but 2012 will not get here soon enough.

No Confidence

No Sh*t...

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) announced Wednesday his plans to introduce a vote of no confidence in Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner.
Turbo Tax Tim has failed miserably at this job. No second chances at saving face now.
White House press secretary Jay Carney dismissed the idea Wednesday shortly before Obama was set to meet with Geithner at the White House.
The carnival barker disagrees of course.
Carney said that the president has "great confidence in Secretary Geithner and his substantial capabilities."
Substantial  capabilities? Dodging taxes? Understanding tax software for dummies?
The Zero has a zero running ruining the Treasury Dept.

Krugman Says S&P And Extremist Republicans Are The Problem

Conscience Of A Liberal Idiot...

On one hand, there is a case to be made that the madness of the right has made America a fundamentally unsound nation. And yes, it is the madness of the right: if not for the extremism of anti-tax Republicans, we would have no trouble reaching an agreement that would ensure long-run solvency.
Color me as a extremist anti-tax American...Krugman? You make the call.

White House Carnival Barker Says No Double Dip

Just a number of headwinds...

But White House spokesman Jay Carney acknowledged at a news conference that growth has slowed as the economy grapples with the effects of high energy prices and other challenges, including the Japanese earthquake and the U.S. debt limit debate.
"There have been a number of headwinds this year," he said.
Good to know...I was starting to worry.

Mouthpiece Says Economy Has "Vastly Improved"

Mr. Shipman is a damn idiot, or a liar, or both!

From Hot Air.
Putting pressure on an already lousy job market, the mass layoff is making a comeback. In the past week, Cisco, Lockheed Martin and Borders announced a combined 23,000 in job cuts. (See:Another Retailer Bites the Dust: Borders Doomed by Amazon Deal, Davidowitz Says)
Those announcements follow 41,432 in planned cuts in June, up 11.6% from May and 5.3% vs. a year earlier, according to Challenger, Gray & Christmas.
